An early 19th Centry French mantle clock by Bachelard Paris. The gilt case of  the love goddess Venus with her baby son Amour. The 8-day movement, with unusual internal jewelled pallets, strikes the hours and half hours on a bell. The large white enamel dial having Arabic numerals and gilt hands signed Bachelard  Rue  Montorgueil

 Bachelard is recorded in Rue Montorgueil in an XI (1802) and working in Paris until 1817.
